All things come to an end at some point. This episode is the last one I broadcasted as a DJ for WMLU 91.3FM. It was so much fun producing and hosting this show over the last two years. Welcome to the next-to-last episode of Off the Charts! Ever. This might also be the best show I've produced so far this semester. In this episode, I give my thoughts on Steve McQueen's epic "12 Years a Slave" during Movie Minute. In the Big Screen Blitz, I discuss stories concerning misguided sequel of "It's a Wonderful Life," possible "Batman vs. Superman" titles, disappointing "Star War"s casting and IMAX tech. Music-wise, I collected an electic set of alternative, folk, roots and even indescribable rocks songs. Full set: 1. Miss Hollywood by Carbon Leaf - Nothing Rhymes with Woman 2. After the Fire by Andrew McMahon - The Pop Underground EP 3. Best Day of My Life by American Authors - American Authors EP 4. Let Her Go by Passenger - All the Little Lights 5. Only two shows remain! It's been an incredible experience doing this show, but sadly my college career must end at some point. As far as this show is concerned - it's pretty much business as usual. In this episode I give my thoughts on "Thor: The Dark World" in Movie Minute. During the Big Screen Blitz I discuss stories regarding movie ratings, gender equality and cinematic universes. Music-wise, this show was (mostly) about opening tracks. Full Set: 1. Dangerous Connection by O.A.R. - Live on Red Rocks 2. Shall We Begin by Simplified - Brighter Days 3. Sigh No More by Mumford and Sons - Sigh No More 4. Start Livin' by Donavon Frankenreiter - Start Livin' 5. Somewhere Only We Know by Keane - Hopes and Fears* 6. This final semester is halfway through and I feel like it's rolling right along! This felt like one of the more solid shows I've done in a while. In this episode, I share my thoughts on the wonderful thriller "Captain Phillips," I talk about screenplay security, what "Batman vs. Superman" will film this weekend and who might be playing Ant-Man. For the music I played tunes by The Head and the Heart, Melodime, Dave Matthews Band, Cris Cab and more! *By the way, Melodime's album is called "Where the Sinners and Saints Collide." Full Set. 1. After last week's show was lost to technical difficulties, this one is good to go. In this episode, I shared my thoughts on Alfonso Cuaron's thriller "Gravity" during Movie Minute. In this week's Big Screen Blitz, I discussed Hobbit budgeting, George Lucas' role in "Episode VII's" story and how social media ca affect box office numbers. As for the music, I went with more songs about love (in various facets) than usual. Like most of these shows, I attempt to make it as upbeat as possible. Check out the full set: 1. Faster by Matt Nathanson - Modern Love 2. Girl Named Tennessee by NEEDTOBREATHE - The Outsiders 3. Love Rain Down by Carbon Leaf - Constellation Prize 4. I'd Like to Get to Know You by JD Eicher and the Goodnights - Into Place 5. Honey You by The Dirty Guv'nahs - Somewhere Beneath These Southern Skys 6. My Life by Simplified - Brighter Days 7.
